Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke in white is a 256mm spoke designed to build lighter wheels at a lower total build cost. Made with PolyLight polymer technology, it is the world’s lightest spoke, saving 100 to 200 grams per wheelset. It is compatible with all standard hub and rim connections and can be trued and maintained like steel spokes. The spoke is stronger and more fatigue resistant than most spokes available, and it helps reduce road and trail vibrations for a smoother ride.
The spoke features a 1.8mm cross section for improved aerodynamics and a custom coating to increase abrasion resistance. At the rim connection, it has a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded section with a flat area designed to be held with a special tool to prevent twisting. It includes an integral eyelet for connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs.
Each spoke weighs approximately 156g per 64 pieces at 260mm length. Spokes are sold individually. Double square locking nipples are recommended but not included (part # DT647 or PM78470). This product requires the purchase of the Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924, which contains eyelet rods, an eyelet hook, and a hub deburring tool; one kit is needed per wheelset.
Note that Berd spoke lengths do not follow standard sizing, so be sure to use Berd-specific spoke length measurements when ordering. This item is a special order and may be available within 1-2 weeks depending on lead times.
