Description
The Continental Pure Contact tire is designed for urban riders who need reliable performance for commuting, shopping, and exploring. It features advanced protection with a combination of Vectran and PolyX breaker technologies. The Vectran Breaker uses a liquid crystal-polymer fiber that offers greater cut resistance and tensile strength than steel, while remaining lightweight and flexible. The PolyX Breaker provides additional puncture resistance through a tightly woven polyester fiber, enhancing durability without increasing rolling resistance.
This folding clincher tire measures 700 x 40 (40 mm width, 700c diameter) and is suitable for road and touring-hybrid use. It has a 330 TPI casing, a maximum pressure of 73 PSI, and weighs 575 grams. The tire is e-bike rated (E50) to withstand the extra forces from electric assist motors, helping to prevent premature wear.
For added safety, the tire includes a reflective sidewall stripe in black, coffee, and graphite reflex colors to improve visibility in low light. In addition, the Pure Contact is made using recycled and renewable materials through sustainable manufacturing methods, supporting a more environmentally friendly choice for riders.
