Description
The DT Swiss XR 421 is a 29″ tubeless-ready disc rim designed for cross-country and fast trail riding. Made from lightweight aluminum, it features a 30 mm internal width that supports tire sizes up to 2.7″ for improved grip and cornering stability. Its asymmetric design helps equalize spoke tension, resulting in a stronger and more durable wheel build. The rim has 28 spoke holes and weighs 548 grams.
The rim uses DT Swiss’ patented Pro Head Reinforcement (PHR) System, which balances the load transferred to the rim with a ball-and-socket interface. This system requires unique Squorx nipples and washers, which are included, along with three decal kits in gold, chrome, and black.
With a nearly seamless weld and special anodizing treatment, the XR 421 is strong and durable. It is disc brake compatible only, has a brake track-free surface, and is designed for use with Presta valves. The rim’s effective rim diameter (ERD) is 604 mm with a 3 mm offset. Its tubeless-ready design allows for lower tire pressures, enhancing traction and reducing rolling resistance.
