Description
The ENVE Composites AR40 Front Wheel is a 700c, 12x100mm thru-axle wheel designed for tubeless tires. It features a 40mm deep, 25mm internal width carbon fiber rim with molded spoke and valve holes. The wheel uses Innerdrive J-bend hubs paired with Sapim CX-Ray J-bend spokes and is compatible with Center-Lock disc brakes.
This front wheel is optimized for tires between 27mm and 50mm wide but requires tires 27mm wide to be tubeless and listed on ENVE’s tire compatibility page. It incorporates ENVE’s patent-pending Wide Hookless Bead design, which helps dissipate impact energy and reduces pinch flats when using tubeless tires. The hookless rim profile ensures consistent and accurate bead seat diameter, essential for secure tubeless tire fitment.
Developed with aerodynamic performance testing in the Mercedes-Benz Formula One wind tunnel, the AR40 offers versatility for both road and gravel riding. The rim weighs 425g, and the complete wheelset weighs 1550g. The wheel has 24 spoke holes and comes in black.
