Description
The ENVE Composites AR40 Rear Wheel is a 700c tubeless-ready wheel designed for road and gravel use. It features a 40mm deep, 25mm internal width carbon fiber rim with molded spoke and valve holes. The rim uses ENVE’s Wide Hookless Bead design, which helps reduce pinch flats by dissipating impact energy. The wheel is built with Innerdrive J-bend hubs and Sapim CX-Ray J-bend spokes, and it is compatible with Shimano HG 11 and 12-speed road cassettes.
This center-lock disc brake wheel has a 12 x 142mm rear thru-axle and comes in black. It is designed for use exclusively with tubeless tires, with recommended tire sizes between 27mm and 50mm. Tires sized 27mm wide must be tubeless and listed as approved or recommended on ENVE’s tire compatibility page. The wheel has 24 spoke holes and a valve for Presta tubes. The total wheel weight is 825g.
Developed and tested in the Mercedes-Benz Formula One wind tunnel, the AR40 delivers aerodynamic performance suitable for versatile on- and off-road riding. Its hookless rim profile ensures consistent and accurate bead seat diameter tolerances, supporting reliable tubeless tire performance.
