Description
The ENVE Composites AR40 Rear Wheel is a 700c tubeless-ready wheel designed for road and gravel riding. It features a 40mm deep, 25mm internal width carbon fiber rim with molded spoke and valve holes. The rim uses ENVE’s Wide Hookless Bead design to reduce pinch flats and improve impact resistance. The wheel is built with Innerdrive J-bend hubs paired with Sapim CX-Ray J-bend spokes and includes a Center-Lock disc brake mount. It is compatible with SRAM XDR cassette bodies and has 24 spokes. The recommended tire width ranges from 27mm to 50mm, with 27mm tires required to be tubeless and approved by ENVE’s tire compatibility list. The rear axle measures 12 x 142mm. The complete wheelset weighs 1550g, with the rear wheel alone weighing 825g. The AR40 is engineered for reliable performance and aerodynamic efficiency, having been tested in wind tunnels associated with the Mercedes-Benz Formula One program.
