Description
The Maxxis Assegai mountain tire is designed for downhill racing and aggressive trail riding in mixed conditions. It features a tread pattern with knob heights between the Minion DHR II and the Shorty. The center knobs are ramped on the leading edge to reduce rolling resistance, while a small knob between the center and side knobs ensures smooth cornering transitions. This tire delivers predictable traction on slippery roots and rocks.
Constructed with MaxxTerra, a durable triple compound, it balances grip and tread wear while maintaining rolling efficiency. The EXO+ casing offers medium-duty puncture protection for tread and sidewalls, suitable for all-around trail use and lightweight e-bikes. The tire is tubeless ready with a folding bead and measures 27.5″ x 2.60″ (66mm width, 584mm diameter), with a 60 TPI casing.
Recommended for front-wheel installation in trail, enduro, and downhill conditions, the Assegai is the signature tire of World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar. It comes in black and supports E25 e-bike use.
