Description
The Maxxis Dissector II is a 29″x2.40 mountain bike tire designed for dry, hard, and rocky terrain. It features a redesigned tread with split center knobs for improved braking and terrain conformity, larger side knobs for better grip and stability, and outwardly positioned transition knobs to enhance cornering. The tire uses Maxxis’ 3C MaxxGrip compound, offering a sticky, slow-rebounding rubber ideal for front tires on trail bikes with 130-140mm travel or as a fast rear tire on bikes with 150mm+ travel. Its Wide Trail (WT) casing is optimized for rims with 30-35mm inner widths, and the Folding bead makes it lightweight and easy to handle.
This tubeless-ready clincher weighs 1050 grams and has a 60 TPI casing with EXO+ protection, providing medium-duty puncture resistance to guard against damage from rocks and roots. The butyl insert helps prevent pinch flats and rim damage, making it suitable for all-around trail riding and light e-bike use. The tire is available in black and pairs well with models like the Maxxis Forekaster or Rekon for a balanced ride.
