Description
The Maxxis Dissector II is a 29″x2.40 folding mountain bike tire designed for dry, hard, rocky terrain. It features redesigned side knobs with a larger footprint to improve grip and stability, especially on firm surfaces. The center tread maintains a fast-rolling 2-3-2 layout with split center knobs for better braking and adaptability to the terrain. Transition knobs are positioned outward to enable smoother cornering.
This tire uses MaxxTerra, an updated triple compound that enhances durability while preserving grip, tread wear, and rolling resistance. The Double Down (DD) casing combines two layers of lightweight 120 TPI material with a butyl sidewall insert, creating a highly durable tire that offers more trail feedback compared to downhill casings.
The Dissector II is tubeless ready with a folding bead and weighs 1207 grams. It works well as a front tire on 130-140mm trail bikes or as a fast rear tire on 150mm+ setups, and pairs effectively with the Forekaster or Rekon tires for a balanced ride. It is approved for use on e-bikes and comes in black.
