Description
The Maxxis Dissector II Tire is a 29 x 2.4-inch tubeless-ready folding mountain bike tire designed for dry, hard, and rocky terrain. It features a redesigned tread with larger side knobs for improved grip and stability on hard surfaces, while the split center knobs enhance braking and terrain adaptability. The transition knobs are positioned outward to provide smoother cornering.
This tire uses Maxxis’s 3C MaxxTerra triple compound, which offers a balance of grip, tread durability, and rolling efficiency. The DoubleDown (DD) casing combines two layers of lightweight 240 TPI material with a butyl sidewall insert for durability and increased trail feedback without the stiffness of a downhill tire. Additionally, the EXO protection on the sidewalls guards against cuts and abrasions while remaining flexible.
The Wide Trail (WT) design optimizes the tread and profile for wider rims with a 35mm inner width, making it well-suited as a front tire on 130-140mm trail bikes or as a fast rear tire on 150mm+ setups. It pairs well with the Maxxis Forekaster or Rekon tires for a balanced ride.
