The Maxxis Forekaster is a 27.5″ x 2.40 mountain tire designed for modern short travel trail bikes, suitable for the downcountry segment. It features a redesigned aggressive tread with taller side knobs for improved cornering grip and a denser tread pattern to enhance rolling efficiency. This tubeless ready tire uses the MaxxTerra triple compound for durability and grip, while the EXO+ casing offers medium-duty puncture protection on the tread and sidewall, making it suitable for all-around trail riding and light e-bikes (E25/E50 rated).
The tire performs well in loose, medium, muddy, and wet conditions thanks to its widely spaced, siped knobs that shed mud quickly and provide extra traction. It has a folding bead, 60 TPI construction, and weighs 936 grams. The Forekaster rolls fast while providing solid cornering and braking traction, making it a versatile choice between cross-country and gravity-focused tires.
