The Maxxis Forekaster is a 29″x2.40 folding mountain tire designed for modern short travel trail bikes, also known as “downcountry” bikes. It features a MaxxTerra triple compound tread that balances durability and grip for consistent performance across various trail conditions. The tire’s EXO+ sidewall and tread provide medium-duty puncture protection, suitable for general trail riding and lightweight e-bikes. Its aggressive XC trail tread pattern includes widely spaced knobs for excellent traction in loose, muddy, and wet terrain, with siped knobs for added grip during cornering. This tubeless-ready clincher tire has a 60 TPI casing and measures 29 inches in diameter with a width of 2.40 inches. The tire is black with folding bead construction.
