The Maxxis Minion DHR2 is a 27.5″ x 2.50 folding mountain tire designed for trail, enduro, and downhill riding. It features side knobs inspired by the Minion DHF but widened for added support, offering exceptional cornering traction. The center tread includes ramped leading edges for improved acceleration and sipes for smooth leaning transitions. Paddle-shaped center knobs enhance braking control by digging into the trail.
Made with Maxxis’ 3C Maxx Grip compound, this tire provides excellent traction through its sticky, slow-rebound rubber. The new DH casing increases puncture protection and durability while improving compliance over rough terrain. This casing allows for lower air pressures compared to previous downhill designs, resulting in a more stable and controlled ride.
The Minion DHR2 is tubeless ready and uses a folding bead. It has a 120 TPI construction with flat protection on both the tread and sidewall. Weighing 1353 grams, this tire is also designed for e-bike (E25) use. Its width of 2.50 inches fits within a range of 2.30 to 2.60 inches.
