Description
The Maxxis Minion DHX is a 29″ x 2.50 mountain tire designed for demanding downhill riding. It features a folding bead and is tubeless ready. The tire uses the 3C MaxxGrip compound, which offers maximum traction with the stickiest, slowest-rebounding rubber available from Maxxis.
This tire includes an improved dual-ply DH casing that provides enhanced puncture protection and durability while allowing better compliance on rough terrain. The progressive casing stiffness helps deliver a more planted and damped feel by enabling lower air pressures, which also improves support during high cornering loads and impacts.
The tread design offers increased side knob support to prevent folding and includes low-depth sipes for better surface conformity, resulting in smooth and intuitive handling with a seamless transition from center to side knobs. The Minion DHX balances rolling speed and braking power similarly to the DHR II while providing greater stability and a smoother cornering experience.
Additional specifications include a 120 TPI (threads per inch) casing, compatibility with E50 e-bikes, and a weight of 1527 grams. The tire is black with a width range of 2.30 to 2.60 inches and is suitable for both front and rear use.
