The Maxxis Receptor Gravel Tire 700x40C is a folding, tubeless-ready tire designed for gravel riding on pavement, hard-packed dirt roads, and light gravel surfaces. It features a semi-slick tread pattern with a file-style centerline and shoulders, combined with larger knobs on the corners to enhance handling in turns.
This tire uses the HYPR-X compound, which blends qualities from Maxxis’s HYPR Road and MaxxSpeed MTB compounds to provide better traction and lower rolling resistance. The casing includes EXO protection, a densely woven, flexible fabric layer that improves puncture resistance, especially from sidewall abrasions.
With a 120 TPI casing and a 40mm width, this tire is suited for all-terrain gravel riding and long adventures off the beaten path. It is tubeless ready (sealant required) and weighs 440 grams. The tire comes in a black tread with tan sidewalls and fits 700c rims with an ISO diameter of 622.
