Description
The Park Tool BBT-147-12 is a steel bottom bracket socket designed for removing and installing threaded bottom brackets with 12-notch T47 tool fittings. Made from precision-machined 4140 steel, it fits 12-notch fittings with a major diameter of 50-53mm and a minor diameter of 48.2mm. This range includes compatibility with Chris King ThreadFit T47, ThreadFit 30, ThreadFit T47 24x and 30, BBInfinite T47, Hambini T47, Rotor T47 External 30mm, and various Rotor thread-together standards such as BBright, BB30, BB386EVO, and PF30.
The tool features an extra-deep body to accommodate extra-wide spindles and low-profile walls at the engagement point, allowing access to recessed lockrings that standard tools cannot reach. It offers three drive options: a 3/8″ drive, a 1″ hex fitting, and 36mm wrench flats, enabling use on firmly seized cups. Integrated threads accept the Park Tool BBT-RS Bottom Bracket Tool Retaining System or GPS-1 Guide Pins (sold separately) to improve alignment during service.
The outer diameter at the engagement point is 57.5mm (2.264″), with an internal clearance measuring 42mm depth by 30.44mm diameter. This tool is not rated for impact drivers. The BBT-147-12 comes in black and is intended for heavy-duty workshop use.
