Description
The Spank SPANK 359 Rear Wheel is a 27.5″ wheel featuring 32 spokes and a 148mm Boost hub spacing with a Shimano HG freehub, finished in black. It is hand-built to A-Class specifications and uses the SPANK HEX Drive Hub with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet design that provides 3.5 degrees of engagement for nearly instant pedaling response.
The wheel has a moderately low 19mm profile height and a wide 30.5mm inner rim width, offering a balance of radial compliance for improved traction and comfort, along with high lateral stiffness for predictable handling. It fits tires from 2.0″ to 2.6″, with the capacity to accommodate plus-size tires without squaring off tire profiles. Bead Bite tubeless hooks improve tubeless tire performance and security at lower pressures.
The build includes triple-butted J-hook spokes with 3-cross lacing, brass external nipples, and a tubeless taped rim with a Presta valve. The hub is made from CNC-optimized forged alloy, including the hub body, axle, and freehub body, and uses a 6-bolt disc mount.
This wheel is classified as ASTM 5 and designed for riding styles including all mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike (when used with SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehubs sold separately). Compatible adapters and service kits are available for various hub spacing and freehub standards.
