Description
The Spank SPANK 359 Rear Wheel features a 32-hole, 27.5″ rim with a 148mm Boost spacing and Microspline freehub in black. It is hand-built to A-Class specifications and uses the SPANK HEX Drive Hub, which has a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for nearly instant pickup.
The wheel has a moderately low 19mm profile height and a 30.5mm inner width, offering a balance of radial compliance for improved traction and comfort, along with high lateral stiffness and predictable handling. Its width accommodates tires ranging from 2.0″ to 2.6″, including plus-size tires, without negatively affecting tire profile shape.
Bead Bite tubeless hooks enhance tubeless performance and ensure tire security at lower pressures. The hub features a CNC-optimized forged alloy body, alloy axle, and alloy freehub body, with a 6-bolt disc mount. The wheel uses J-hook, triple-butted spokes with brass external nipples and is laced in a 3-cross pattern. It comes tubeless taped and includes a Presta valve.
This wheel is designed for all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike use. SPANK recommends using their HEX DRIVE steel freehub for e-bike applications (sold separately). Compatible rear adapters and service kits are available for different configurations.
