Description
The Spank SPANK 359 Rear Wheel is a 29″ wheel featuring a 32-hole count and 148mm Boost spacing with a Microspline freehub. It is hand-built to A-Class specifications and uses the SPANK HEX Drive Hub with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet mechanism, providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for near-instant pickup.
The wheel has a moderately low profile height of 19mm and a wide outer width of 35mm, with a 30.5mm inner width that accommodates tires ranging from 2.0″ to 2.6″, including plus-size tires without squaring off tire profiles. Bead Bite tubeless hooks improve tubeless setup performance and tire security at lower pressures.
This wheel is constructed with J-hook, triple-butted spokes (2.2/1.8/2.0) laced in a 3-cross pattern and uses brass external nipples. It comes tubeless taped and valved with a Presta valve. The hub is made from CNC optimized forged alloy with an alloy axle and freehub body, and the disc mount uses a 6-bolt pattern.
The SPANK 359 is designed for demanding riding styles including all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike use (with the appropriate SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub sold separately). Compatible rear adapters include HEX Rear Hub QRx135/141 for Boost R148 spacing. Service kits are available for hub bearing replacements, axle shafts, and freehub bodies in HG, XD, and Microspline standards.
