Description
The Spank SPANK 359 Vibrocore Rear Wheel features a 32-hole, 27.5″ rim with a 148mm Boost spacing and a Microspline freehub in black. It is hand-built to A-Class specifications with a SPANK HEX J-Type hub, which includes a 102-tooth 6-pawl ratchet for 3.5 degrees of engagement, providing quick and responsive pickup.
The rim has a 19mm profile height and 30.5mm inner width, making it versatile for tire sizes from 2.0″ to 2.6″ and suitable for plus-size tires without negatively affecting tire profiles. It uses Spank’s Vibrocore, which adds torsional strength and lateral stiffness, reduces harmful vibrations to improve comfort and performance, and extends rim durability. The rim also has bead bite tubeless hooks to enhance tubeless tire performance at lower pressures.
This rear wheel is laced with triple-butted 2.2/1.8/2.0 J-hook spokes using 3-cross lacing and brass external nipples. It comes tubeless taped and valved with a Presta valve. The hub is made of CNC optimized forged alloy components including the hub body, axle, and freehub body. It features a 6-bolt disc mount.
The wheel is designed for demanding riding styles including all mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, XC, and is recommended for use with e-bikes when paired with the SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub (available separately). Compatible rear adapters and service kits are also available.
Weight for the 27.5″, 148mm Boost version is approximately 1149 grams.
