The Spank SPANK 359 Vibrocore Rear Wheel is a 29″ wheel with a 32-hole count and 148mm Boost spacing, featuring the SPANK HEX Drive Hub in HG configuration. It offers 102-tooth, 6-pawl engagement with a 3.5-degree engagement angle for quick and responsive pickup.
This wheel uses a low-profile alloy rim with a 19mm profile height and 30.5mm inner width. The rim incorporates SPANK’s Vibrocore technology, enhancing torsional strength and lateral stiffness while reducing vibration transmission, which improves ride comfort and rim durability. It is tubeless-compatible, equipped with bead bite tubeless hooks for better tire security and performance at lower pressures. The rim fits tires ranging from 2.0″ to 2.6″ comfortably, and can even accommodate plus-size tires without negatively affecting tire shape.
Hand-built to A-Class specifications with triple-butted J-hook spokes and brass external nipples, this wheel is designed for heavy riding styles including all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, XC, and e-bike applications (with appropriate adapter and freehub purchase). The hub body, axle, and freehub are CNC forged alloy, featuring a 6-bolt disc mount.
Compatible service parts and adapters are available separately, including replacement bearing kits, axle shafts for various hub spacings, and freehubs for HG, XD, and Microspline. Rear hub adapters for QRx135/141 are compatible with the Boost R148 version.
This wheel is built to support heavy riders and heavy impact riding, trusted by professional riders on the UCI DH World Cup circuit and big mountain freeriders. It pairs well with SPANK 350 and SPANK 350 Vibrocore front wheels.
