Description
The Spank 359 Vibrocore Rear Wheel is a 29″ wheel with 32 spokes, designed for 148mm Boost XD hub spacing. It features the new Spank Hex Drive hub with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet system that provides 3.5 degrees of engagement for nearly instant engagement.
The wheel uses a low-profile alloy rim with Spank’s Vibrocore technology injected to increase torsional strength and lateral stiffness, resulting in a smooth and responsive ride. The 19mm profile height balances radial compliance and lateral stiffness, improving traction and handling precision. Radial compliance helps absorb bumps and chatter, enhancing performance and comfort.
The rim has a 30.5mm inner width, compatible with tire sizes from 2.0″ to 2.6″ and allowing for larger tires without causing tire profile deformation. Bead Bite tubeless hooks improve tubeless setup performance and tire security, even at lower pressures.
This wheel is hand-built to A-Class specifications, making it suitable for demanding riders such as downhill racers, freeriders, and heavy hitters. It is classified for ASTM level 5 use and intended for all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike applications (with compatible freehub upgrade).
Build details include triple-butted J-hook spokes, brass external nipples, 3-cross lacing, and tubeless-ready rim tape and Presta valve. The hub body, axle, and freehub are CNC forged alloy, with a 6-bolt disc mount.
Available factory standard with XD freehub for this variant, the wheel weighs approximately 1189g. Compatible rear adapters and service kits are available separately.
