Description
The Spank HEX Boost R141/148 Hub is designed for fast and reliable engagement in mountain biking disciplines such as all mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, and cross-country riding. It features Spank’s HEX DRIVE 102T technology, providing 3.5 degrees of engagement with 6 independent pawls and a total of 18 engagement points per click for near-instant power transfer.
Constructed from CNC optimized forged alloy, the hub body, axle, and freehub are lightweight yet durable. It comes with an alloy HG or XD freehub body, suitable for standard or XD driver cassettes. The bite-block design resists damage from cassette use without the added weight of steel components.
The hub includes a 6-bolt disc mount and a unique flange design that reduces spoke dish and balances spoke tension. An advanced seal system helps protect bearings and the drive system from contamination. This model is finished with a matte anodized surface and laser logos and is available only in the Boost 12x148mm (R148) configuration with 32 J-hook spoke holes.
It weighs approximately 318 grams with the HG freehub and 310 grams with the XD freehub. The Boost QRx141 adapter is sold separately, allowing conversion to QRx141. Compatible service kits and replacement parts such as bearings, axle shafts, and freehubs are also available. The hub is finished in green.
