Description
The Spank SPANK SPIKE 369 Rear Wheel features a 32-hole, 27.5″ rim with a 148mm Boost spacing and XD freehub. It is hand-built to A-Class specifications and uses the SPANK HEX Drive Hub with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet, providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for quick response.
The rim has a 30.5mm inner width and a 19mm profile height, designed for versatile tire compatibility ranging from 2.0″ to 2.6″, including plus-size tires without squaring off tire profiles. Its Sacred Geometry hollow bead wall design enhances lateral and vertical strength, while the wider bead wall reduces pinch flats and improves impact resistance. Bead Bite tubeless hooks ensure better tubeless performance and tire security at lower pressures.
The wheel features a moderately low-profile rim that balances radial compliance for improved traction and comfort with high lateral stiffness for predictable handling. It is compatible with various rear adapters and service kits, including those for HG and XD freehubs.
This rear wheel is suitable for multiple riding styles, including all mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike use when paired with the SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub (sold separately). The build includes triple-butted J-hook spokes, brass external nipples, 3-cross lacing, and is tubeless taped with a Presta valve.
