The Spank SPANK SPIKE 369 Rear Wheel is a 29″ wheel with 32 spokes, designed with a 148mm Boost hub spacing and Shimano HG freehub compatibility. It features the brand new SPANK HEX Drive Hub, which uses a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet system providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for fast and responsive power transfer.
Hand-built to A-Class standards, this wheel offers a lightweight, high-performance option trusted by professional riders in the Enduro World Series. The rim uses a Sacred Geometry hollow bead wall design to enhance lateral and vertical strength, while its wider bead bed helps reduce pinch flats and increases impact resistance.
With a moderately low 19mm profile height and a 30.5mm inner width, the rim balances comfort and stiffness, improving traction over rough terrain and allowing for versatile tire compatibility from 2.0″ up to 2.6″, including plus-size tires without compromising tire shape. Bead Bite tubeless hooks improve tubeless tire retention and performance, even at low pressures.
The wheel is hand-laced with triple-butted J-hook spokes (2.2/1.8/2.0) and brass external nipples, arranged in a 3-cross pattern. It comes tubeless taped and equipped with a Presta valve.
This rear wheel is rated ASTM 5 and suited for all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike use (e-bike compatibility requires a separately purchased SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub). The CNC forged alloy hub body, alloy axle, and alloy freehub body deliver durability and performance.
Weight for the 29″, 148mm Boost HG version is approximately 1187 grams.
Compatible rear adapters are available for Boost 148mm hubs, including HEX Rear Hub QRx135/141 adapters. A range of service kits and replacement parts are also available for maintenance and upgrades.
