Description
The Spank SPANK SPIKE 369 Vibrocore Rear Wheel is a 27.5″ wheel with 32 spokes and a 148mm Boost hub spacing. It features the SPANK HEX Drive hub, equipped with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet mechanism providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for quick and responsive performance.
The wheel uses a low-profile alloy rim enhanced with SPANK’s Vibrocore technology, which improves torsional strength and lateral stiffness while reducing harmful vibrations. The rim has a 30.5mm inner width and 19mm profile height, balancing radial compliance with lateral stiffness to enhance traction, comfort, and handling. It supports tire widths from 2.0″ to 2.6″ and can accommodate larger tires without negatively affecting the tire profile. Tubeless-ready bead hooks improve tire security even at lower pressures.
Designed and hand-built to A-Class standards, the wheel utilizes SPANK’s Sacred Geometry hollow bead wall design to increase lateral and vertical strength and reduce impact damage and pinch flats. It is built with triple-butted J-hook spokes and brass external nipples, laced in a 3-cross pattern. The hub body, axle, and freehub are forged alloy.
This rear wheel is compatible with Shimano HG freehubs and available with adapters for various Boost and non-Boost spacing. It is suitable for multiple riding styles including all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike use (with a compatible steel freehub sold separately). The wheel is recommended for riders ranging from light to heavy impact and offers increased durability and performance for demanding conditions.
