The Spank SPANK SPIKE 369 Vibrocore Rear Wheel is designed for 27.5″ bicycles with a 32-hole count and 148mm Boost spacing, featuring a Microspline freehub. It uses the new SPANK HEX Drive Hub with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet system, providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for quick and responsive power transfer.
The wheel’s alloy rim incorporates SPANK’s Vibrocore technology, enhancing torsional strength and lateral stiffness while improving ride comfort by reducing harmful vibrations. The Sacred Geometry hollow bead wall design increases both lateral and vertical strength, and the wider bead wall reduces pinch flats and boosts impact resistance. With a 19mm profile height and 30.5mm inner rim width, it balances radial compliance and lateral stiffness for better traction and predictable handling. Tires ranging from 2.0″ to 2.6″ fit comfortably, supporting more versatile tire choices.
Built by hand to A-Class standards, the rim is tubeless-ready with bead bite hooks that improve tire security at lower pressures. This rear wheel is designed to withstand heavy use, favored by professionals in downhill racing and big mountain freeriding. It pairs well with the SPANK SPIKE 369 Vibrocore or SPIKE 369 front wheels.
Hub options include Shimano HG and XD freehub compatibility, with various axle adapters and service kits available. The build features J-hook, triple-butted spokes with brass nipples using a 3-cross lacing pattern.
This wheel is rated ASTM 5 for All Mountain, Trail, Enduro, Freeride, Downhill, Gravel, Cross-Country, and E-Bike use (when adapted with the SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub, sold separately).
