The Spank SPANK SPIKE 369 Vibrocore rear wheel is designed for 27.5″ bikes with a 32-hole rim and Superboost / 12×150 / 157mm hub spacing. It features the new SPANK HEX Drive Hub with a 102-tooth, 6-pawl ratchet providing 3.5 degrees of engagement for nearly instant pickup.
The wheel uses a low-profile alloy rim with Spank’s Vibrocore technology, which enhances torsional strength and lateral stiffness for a smooth and responsive ride. The Sacred Geometry hollow bead wall design improves lateral and vertical strength, while the wider bead wall reduces pinch flats and increases impact resistance. With a 19mm profile height and 30.5mm inner width, the rim balances radial compliance and lateral stiffness, supporting tire widths from 2.0″ to 2.6″ and even larger plus-size tires without squaring off the profile.
Vibrocore in the rim reduces harmful vibrations, which benefits rider comfort, suspension performance, and rim durability. Tubeless-ready features include bead bite hooks for improved tire security at lower pressures. The wheel is hand-built to A-Class specifications with triple-butted J-hook spokes, brass external nipples, 3-cross lacing, and a Presta valve.
The HEX Drive hub is CNC-forged alloy with an alloy axle and freehub body. It uses a 6-bolt disc mount and is compatible with Shimano HG freehubs. This rear wheel suits heavy riders and aggressive ride styles such as all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, downhill, gravel, cross-country, and e-bike use when paired with the appropriate SPANK HEX Drive steel freehub (sold separately).
