Description
The Spank SPIKE Race 33 Rear Wheel is a 27.5″ tubeless-ready wheel featuring a high-performance alloy rim designed for freeride, enduro, and downhill racing. It has 32 spoke holes and a rim width of 33mm outer and 28mm inner, which optimizes tire profile for improved traction. The rim center is corrugated for added strength and rigidity without extra material, and a shot peen finish enhances durability and fatigue life.
The wheel is built with a SPANK HEX J-TYPE hub, featuring HEX DRIVE engagement with 102 points of contact and a 3.5-degree engagement angle. The hub body, axle, and freehub are CNC optimized forged alloy. This rear wheel is compatible with XD freehub bodies and fits hub spacing of 142mm or 135mm. It comes handbuilt with triple-butted J-hook spokes, brass external nipples, and uses 3-cross lacing. The valve type is Presta (F/V), and the rim is tubeless taped and valved for easy setup.
This wheel is suitable for wide tire sizes ranging from 1.9″ to 2.5″ and is designed to handle heavy to light riders with medium to heavy impact riding styles. It is compatible with various adapters and service kits for hub maintenance and conversion. The Spank SPIKE Race 33 is recommended for all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, and downhill use, and can also be adapted for e-bike use with the appropriate SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub (sold separately).
