The Spank SPIKE Race 33 Rear Wheel (32H, 27.5″, 148mm Boost HG, Black) is a high-performance alloy rim built for freeride, enduro, and downhill racing. It features a tubeless-ready design with anti-burp rim hooks that help maintain tire pressure and keep tires securely in place. The rim has 32 holes, an inner width of 28mm, and an outer width of 33mm, which optimizes tire spread for improved traction. Its corrugated rim center adds strength and rigidity without extra material. The shot peen finish enhances durability and fatigue life.
This wheel is handbuilt with J-hook, triple-butted spokes (2.2/1.8/2.0) and brass external nipples, using a 3-cross lacing pattern. It includes a tubeless taped rim and a Presta valve. The hub, a Spank HEX J-Type, has 32 holes, features HEX DRIVE engagement with 102 teeth, 3.5 degrees of engagement, and 6 pawls. It is made from CNC-optimized forged alloy components including the hub body, axle, and freehub body. The hub uses a 6-bolt disc mount.
Compatible with HG freehub and designed for 148mm Boost spacing, this rear wheel is recommended for riders of varying body weights and impact levels. It fits tires ranging from 1.9″ to 2.5″. Compatible adapters and service kits are available separately.
