Description
The Spank SPIKE Race 33 Rear Wheel is designed for high-performance riding in freeride, enduro, and downhill racing. It features a 27.5″ alloy rim with 32 holes, an inner width of 28mm, and an outer width of 33mm to optimize tire spread and improve traction. The rim is tubeless-ready, equipped with anti-burp rim hooks to maintain tire pressure and secure fit.
The rim center has a corrugated design that increases strength and rigidity without adding material. A shot peen finish enhances durability and extends fatigue life. This handbuilt wheel uses a SPANK HEX J-Type hub with 102-tooth HEX DRIVE engagement and 3.5-degree engagement angle, three pawls, and a 6-bolt disc mount.
Spokes are triple-butted J-hook style, laced in a 3-cross pattern with brass external nipples. The wheel is tubeless taped and includes a Presta valve. The rear hub spacing is 148mm Boost with an XD freehub body, and it weighs approximately 1036 grams.
Compatible with various adapter options and service kits, this wheel is suitable for riders of different body weights and impact levels. It supports tire widths from 1.9″ to 2.5″ and is recommended for e-bike use when paired with the appropriate SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub (sold separately).
