Description
The Spank SPIKE Race 33 Rear Wheel is a high-performance alloy rim designed for freeride, enduro, and downhill racing. It features a tubeless-ready design with anti-burp rim hooks that help maintain tire pressure and keep tires securely in place. The rim has 32 holes, with an inner width of 28mm and an outer width of 33mm to optimize tire spread and improve traction.
The corrugated rim center adds strength and rigidity, allowing for a wider rim without extra material. A shot peen finish enhances durability and increases fatigue life. This wheel is handbuilt with Spank HEX J-Type hubs, 3-cross lacing using triple butted J-hook spokes, brass external nipples, and comes tubeless taped with a Presta valve.
Multiple hub spacing and freehub variants are available, including Boost 12×148 and standard 12×142 or 12×150 spacing, compatible with HG and XD freehubs. The wheel supports disc brakes with a 6-bolt mount.
The Spank SPIKE Race 33 is recommended for riders with various body weights and impact levels, suitable for all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, and downhill use. It fits 27.5″ tires sized from 1.9″ to 2.5″.
Compatible rear adapters and service kits are available, including HEX rear hub replacement bearing kits, alloy axle shafts, and freehubs in HG, XD, and Microspline options. The wheel is also recommended for e-bike use when paired with the SPANK HEX DRIVE steel freehub, sold separately.
