Description
The Spank SPIKE Race 33 Rear Wheel is a high-performance 27.5″ alloy rim designed for freeride, enduro, and downhill racing. It features a tubeless-ready design with anti-burp rim hooks to maintain tire pressure and secure tire placement. The rim has 32 holes, an inner width of 28mm, and an outer width of 33mm to optimize tire spread and improve traction.
The corrugated center adds strength and rigidity, allowing for a wider rim without extra material. The shot peen finish enhances durability and fatigue life. This rear wheel is handbuilt with Spank HEX J-Type hubs, using triple-butted J-hook spokes and brass external nipples arranged in a 3-cross lacing pattern. It comes tubeless taped and valved with a Presta valve.
The hub features a HEX DRIVE engagement system with 102 points of engagement (3.5 ) and uses a 6-pawl mechanism. The hub body, axle, and freehub body are made from CNC-optimized forged alloy. The wheel is compatible with 150/157mm XD freehub bodies and comes in black.
Compatible with various rear hub adapters and service kits from the Spank HEX family, the SPIKE Race 33 Rear Wheel suits riders with different body weights and impact preferences, from light to heavy impact. It is recommended for use with E-Bikes when paired with the Spank HEX DRIVE steel freehub (sold separately).
This wheel pairs with the SPIKE Race 33 front wheels and is suitable for ASTM 5 classified activities including all-mountain, trail, enduro, freeride, and downhill riding. It fits tires from 1.9″ to 2.5″ wide and features a profile height of 22mm.
