Description
The Surly Steamroller Frameset is a limited-edition model created to celebrate 20 years of the Blue Lug bike shop in Japan, featuring paint and graphics designed in collaboration with the Blue Lug team. This 53cm frameset is built with Surly’s durable 4130 chromoly steel, including a double-butted main triangle and TIG-welded construction.
Designed for fixed gear or single speed riding, the frame offers road bike geometry combined with track bike features such as 120mm rear spacing, track-legal bottom bracket height, and compatibility with track cranks. The steel fork is 1-1/8″, threadless, and brazed, with mounts for mid-reach caliper brakes (47-57mm). The frame includes brake cable stops for clean rear brake routing and a fork and seatstay bridge drilled to accommodate caliper brakes.
Tire clearance allows for up to 38mm wide 700c tires without fenders, or 32mm with fenders, and there is one bottle cage mount. The frame is powder coated for durability and has an E.D. coating for rust resistance. The rear axle is a quick release with 120mm spacing, and the front axle is quick release with 100mm spacing. The color option is Frank or Beans (brown).
