Description
The Wolf Tooth Floating Axle for Fox Suspension Forks is designed to work with Fox 36 and 38 series forks released since 2021 that feature 15x110mm boost hub spacing and a floating axle design. It provides a strong and precise connection between the front hub and fork by optimizing the oversized 21mm diameter head for minimal excess material, resulting in a lightweight yet robust axle.
This axle features a hollow head and uses a 6mm hex key for installation. It weighs 44 grams and is made in the USA from 7075 T6 aluminum. The axle has a diameter of 15 mm, a thread specification of M14x1.5mm, and an overall length of 136mm.
Installation requires a 6mm hex key, a torque wrench with a 6mm hex bit, waterproof grease, a clean cloth, and isopropyl alcohol. It is recommended to perform the installation with the front wheel on the ground. The process involves loosening the fork’s pinch bolt, removing the existing axle, cleaning and greasing the axle interfaces, sliding in the new axle, torquing it to 9 Nm, compressing the fork to the lowest friction point, and then tightening the pinch bolt to 5 Nm.
Note that this axle is not compatible with Fox 32, 34, 36SL, 40 series forks, or Fox 36 and 38 forks manufactured before 2021.
