Description
The Wolf Tooth Performance IS Headset is made in the USA from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum and features Enduro black oxide sealed bearings on both the upper and lower assemblies. Designed for frames with integrated standard (IS) headsets that have a 41mm upper and 52mm lower outer bearing diameter, this headset offers durability and protection with three levels of custom sealing to keep out water and debris.
The upper assembly includes an ultralight stem cap with an integrated spacer, an aluminum bolt, and a star nut suitable for steel or aluminum steerer tubes. It has a 7mm top cover, resulting in an 8mm total stack height, and a 45.8mm bearing top cap outer diameter. For carbon steerer tubes, a compression plug (sold separately) is required, as star nuts should not be used.
The lower assembly consists of a bearing and a black anodized crown race with a custom dual-lip seal to protect the bearing under tough conditions. Both upper and lower headset parts are precision machined in-house by Wolf Tooth for quality and reliability. The headset components are lightweight, strong, and come with a one-year warranty. Upper and lower headset parts are sold separately.
Additional tools such as the Wolf Tooth crown race installation adapter and precision headset spacers are available for proper installation and maintenance. The headset requires a stem cap bolt torque of 2-3 Nm with light grease on the threads.
