Description
The Wolf Tooth Performance IS Headsets are precision-machined in the USA from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum. Designed for frames with integrated standard (IS) headsets featuring a 41mm upper and 52mm lower outer bearing diameter, these headsets include Enduro black oxide steel sealed bearings on both the upper and lower assemblies.
The upper headset comes with an ultralight stem cap integrated with a spacer, an aluminum bolt, and a star nut. The top cover has a 7mm thickness, creating an 8mm total stack height, and features an O-ring seal to prevent water intrusion around the steerer tube. A custom-molded upper lip seal provides additional protection for the upper bearing. The bearing top cap has a 45.8mm outer diameter. Note that the star nut is compatible only with steel or aluminum steerer tubes; a compression plug (sold separately) is required for carbon steerer tubes. Never use a star nut on carbon steerers.
The lower assembly consists of a sealed bearing and a black anodized crown race, which is not visible once installed. It includes a custom over-molded dual-lip seal to protect the lower bearing in demanding conditions.
These headsets are built to be lightweight, strong, and durable, with three levels of sealing to extend bearing life. The components are machined in-house for high quality and come with a one-year warranty. Service parts and additional accessories, such as the Wolf Tooth crown race installation adapter, are available.
