The Wolf Tooth Performance IS Headset is made in the USA from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum. It features Enduro black oxide sealed steel bearings on both the upper and lower assemblies, designed to protect against water and dirt with three levels of custom sealing. The upper headset includes an ultralight stem cap with an integrated spacer, aluminum bolt, a star nut (for steel or aluminum steerer tubes only), and a 7mm top cover resulting in an 8mm total stack height. An O-ring seal and a custom-molded upper lip seal help prevent water intrusion. The lower headset consists of a bearing and a black anodized crown race with a dual-lip seal to protect the bearing in harsh conditions. This headset fits frames with molded-in internal bearing cups using the Integrated Standard (IS) with a 41mm upper and 52mm lower outer bearing diameter. Uppers and lowers are sold separately. For forks with carbon steerers, a compression plug is required (sold separately), as the star nut is not compatible. Weight for the 7mm stack version is 52 grams. Stem cap bolt torque is 2-3 Nm with light grease on the threads. Service parts and related accessories, such as precision headset spacers and a crown race installation adapter, are available.
