Description
The Wolf Tooth Performance IS Headsets are precision-machined in the USA from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum. Designed for frames with molded-in internal bearing cups, these integrated standard (IS) headsets fit those using a 41mm upper and 52mm lower outer bearing diameter. The upper and lower headset parts are sold separately.
Both upper and lower assemblies include Enduro black oxide steel sealed bearings for durability and smooth performance. The upper headset ships with a star nut designed for steel or aluminum steerer tubes; a compression plug (sold separately) is required for carbon steerers, as a star nut should never be used on carbon.
The upper assembly features an ultralight stem cap with an integrated spacer, an aluminum bolt, and a 7mm top cover resulting in an 8mm total stack height. It includes an O-ring seal to prevent water intrusion and a custom-molded upper lip seal for additional bearing protection. The bearing top cap outer diameter measures 45.8 mm.
The lower assembly consists of a bearing and a black anodized crown race, which is not visible once installed. Its custom over-molded dual-lip seal protects the lower bearing in harsh conditions.
Wolf Tooth headsets undergo in-house precision machining and come with a one-year warranty. Additional parts and service are available. For installation, using the Wolf Tooth crown race installation adapter is recommended to avoid damaging crown race seals.
