Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a 298mm black spoke designed for lighter wheel builds at a lower cost compared to carbon rims. Made with PolyLight polymer technology, it is one of the lightest spokes available, saving 100 to 200 grams per wheelset. The spoke features a 1.8mm cross section for improved aerodynamics and a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded connection at the rim, which includes a flat section to prevent twisting during installation. It has an integral eyelet for use with J-bend or straight pull hubs.
These spokes are compatible with all standard hub and rim connections and are maintained like steel spokes while offering greater strength and fatigue resistance. They also enhance vibration damping for a smoother ride. Each spoke includes a custom coating for increased abrasion resistance.
Berd PolyLight spokes are sold individually and require the Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924 for installation, which contains necessary tools and components. Double square locking nipples (part # DT647 or PM78470) are recommended but not included.
Note: Berd spoke lengths do not follow standard sizes, so use the Berd spoke length when building wheels. This is a special order item with availability typically within 1-2 weeks depending on lead times.
