Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a 255mm white spoke designed for building lighter wheels at a lower total cost compared to carbon rims. Made with PolyLight polymer technology, it is one of the lightest spokes available, saving 100 to 200 grams per wheelset. It is compatible with all standard hub and rim connections and can be trued and maintained like steel spokes. The spoke is stronger and more fatigue resistant than many others on the market and helps reduce road and trail vibrations for a smoother ride. It features a 1.8mm cross section for better aerodynamics and a custom coating to increase abrasion resistance.
The spoke has a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded connection at the rim, which includes a flat section to prevent twisting when using a special tool. It also has an integral eyelet for connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs. The weight for 64 spokes of 260mm length is 156g. Sold individually, these spokes require double square locking nipples (not included), recommended part numbers DT647 or PM78470. Additionally, the Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924, which includes eyelet rods, eyelet hook, and hub deburring tool, is required for installation (one kit per wheelset). Note that Berd spoke lengths do not follow standard measurements, so use Berd-specific spoke length when building wheels.
