Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a white spoke measuring 264mm in length. It features PolyLight polymer technology, making it one of the lightest spokes available, helping reduce wheelset weight by 100 to 200 grams compared to carbon rims. The spoke has a 1.8mm cross section for better aerodynamics and a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless steel threaded connection at the rim with a flat section designed to prevent twisting during installation.
This spoke is compatible with all standard hubs and rims and includes an integral eyelet for connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs. It is stronger and more fatigue resistant than most spokes on the market and can be trued and maintained like steel spokes. Additionally, the custom coating improves abrasion resistance and helps dampen road and trail vibrations for a smoother ride.
Sold individually, weight for 64 spokes of 260mm length is 156g. Double square locking nipples are recommended but not included (part # DT647 or PM78470). A supplemental kit (Berd BO2924) is required for installation, which includes eyelet rods, an eyelet hook, and a hub deburring tool (one kit per wheelset).
Please note this is a special order item with a lead time of 1-2 weeks depending on availability. Because Berd spokes do not follow standard lengths, use the Berd spoke length when calculating requirements.
