Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a lightweight spoke designed to reduce wheelset weight by 100 to 200 grams compared to carbon rims, offering a more cost-effective build. Made with PolyLight polymer technology, it is compatible with all standard hub and rim connections and can be trued and maintained like steel spokes. These spokes are stronger and more fatigue-resistant than most on the market and help improve vibration damping for a smoother ride.
The spoke has a 1.8mm cross section for better aerodynamics and features a custom coating to increase abrasion resistance. At the rim, it uses a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded connection with a flat section that prevents twisting during installation. It includes an integral eyelet for connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs.
Each spoke is 262mm long and white in color. Sold individually. Double square locking nipples (part # DT647 or PM78470) are recommended but not included. Use of the Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924 is required for installation; this kit includes eyelet rods, an eyelet hook, and a hub deburring tool.
Note: Since Berd spokes do not follow standard lengths, use the Berd-specific spoke length when building wheels. Special order item with an estimated availability of 1-2 weeks depending on lead times.
