Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a white 296mm spoke designed for building lighter wheels at a lower cost compared to carbon rims. Made using PolyLight polymer technology, it is one of the world’s lightest spokes, saving 100 to 200 grams per wheelset. It features a 1.8mm cross section for better aerodynamics and has a custom coating to increase abrasion resistance.
The spoke includes a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded connection at the rim, which has a flat section to prevent twisting when tightened with a special tool. It also has an integral eyelet for connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs. These spokes are compatible with all standard hub and rim connections and maintainable like steel spokes, while offering greater strength and fatigue resistance. Additionally, they improve vibration damping for a smoother ride.
This product is sold individually and requires the purchase of the Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924, which contains necessary tools and components for installation. Double square locking nipples are recommended but not included (use part # DT647 or PM78470). Note that Berd spoke lengths differ from standard sizes, so use Berd-specific spoke length measurements.
