The Surly Skid Loader Cargo Ebike is a compact electric cargo bike designed for carrying heavy loads in tight spaces where traditional long-tail bikes may not fit. This Small frame model features a 27.5″ wheel size and is finished in Illegal Smile Green.
Built with a 100% Surly Chromoly Steel frame and fork using Natch tubing and double-butted main triangle construction, the bike offers durability and strength. It has a rigid steel fork and internal cable routing for the dropper post, brakes, derailleur, and lights.
Powered by a Bosch Performance Line Cargo mid-drive motor, the bike provides up to 400% motor assist with four assist levels controlled by a Purion 200 Remote. The 36V, 14.4Ah removable lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 545Wh, delivering an estimated range between 15 and 50 miles depending on conditions. Charging time ranges from 1.8 to 4.9 hours. The bike includes a charger.
The Skid Loader supports a maximum gross payload of 400 lbs. The dedicated rear rack has M6 hardware and a capacity of 100 lbs, with the deck itself rated for 59 lbs (27 kg). It features tire clearance for up to 27.5 x 2.8″ tires without fenders, mounts for fenders and a front rack, and a stable dual-leg kickstand with a kickstand plate. The front wheel stabilizer adds further control.
Safety and visibility are enhanced with integrated headlights and taillights. The bike uses disc brakes for reliable stopping power. It meets UL 2849 and UL 2271 certification standards.
Additional details include a 12mm by 148mm rear thru-axle, a 15mm by 110mm front thru-axle, no throttle, walk assist capability, and a Class 1 e-bike rating with motor assist up to 20 mph.
