Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a 268mm white spoke designed for building lighter wheels at a lower total cost. Made using PolyLight polymer technology, it is among the lightest spokes available, saving 100 to 200 grams per wheelset. This spoke is compatible with standard hub and rim connections and is trued and maintained like steel spokes. It offers greater strength and fatigue resistance than most spokes and helps reduce road and trail vibrations for a smoother ride.
The spoke features a 1.8mm cross section to improve aerodynamics and has a custom coating to increase abrasion resistance. At the rim end, it includes a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded connection with a flat section to prevent twisting during installation. It has an integral eyelet for connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs.
Each spoke weighs approximately 2.44 grams (based on 64 spokes at 260mm weighing 156g) and is sold individually. Double square locking nipples (not included) are recommended for use, with part numbers DT647 or PM78470. Note that the Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924, which contains eyelet rods, an eyelet hook, and a hub deburring tool, is required and should be purchased separately (one kit per wheelset). Berd spoke lengths do not follow standard sizes, so use Berd-specific spoke length measurements when ordering. This item is a special order and may take 1-2 weeks for delivery depending on availability.
