Description
The Berd PolyLight 14g Spoke is a 292mm white spoke sold individually. Using PolyLight polymer technology, it is designed to be the world’s lightest spoke, saving 100 to 200 grams per wheelset compared to carbon rims and offering a lower total build cost. The spoke features a 1.8mm cross section for better aerodynamics and includes a 14 gauge (2.0mm) stainless threaded connection at the rim, which has a flat section to prevent twisting when installed with a special tool. An integral eyelet allows connection to J-bend or straight pull hubs. These spokes are compatible with all standard hub and rim connections and are trued and maintained like steel spokes. They are stronger and more fatigue resistant than most alternatives and improve vibration damping for a smoother ride. A custom coating enhances abrasion resistance. Double square locking nipples are recommended but not included (use part # DT647 or PM78470). The Berd Supplemental Kit BO2924 is required for installation and includes eyelet rods, an eyelet hook, and a hub deburring tool (1 kit per wheelset). Note that Berd spoke lengths do not follow standard sizes, so use the Berd-specific spoke length. This is a special order item with availability typically within 1-2 weeks, depending on lead times.
