Description
The Surly Big Dummy is a 26″ longtail cargo bike in Twilight Zone blue, designed to carry a rider plus up to 200 pounds of cargo smoothly and with ease. Built with a large steel frame made from 100% Surly 4130 Chromoly Natch tubing, it features double-butted main triangle and fork blades that are TIG welded and coated to resist rust. The bike includes a Dummy Deck, Dummy Rails with two Surly Dummy Rail Collars for added stiffness, and Big Dummy Bags Version 2.0.
It has a rigid steel fork with two Four-Pack mounts, and the frame offers multiple bottle mount options: three standard mounts plus one Three-Pack mount on the large frame. Fender eyelets and Surly Trip Guides allow for clean routing of brake and shift housing or hydraulic lines. Its rear axle is QR x 135mm and the front axle is QR x 100mm, both compatible with disc brakes.
The Big Dummy accommodates tires up to 26 x 2.5″ and places no limits on chainring sizes. It comes with a kickstand plate and supports a combined rider and cargo weight limit of 400 pounds. The bike’s effective top tube length is 645 mm, and as a platform, the Big Dummy is available in three frame sizes (S, M, L) to fit most riders. This listing is for the Large size.
