Description
The Surly Big Dummy Cargo Bike is a 26-inch steel longtail bike designed for carrying a rider plus up to 200 pounds of cargo. It offers smooth handling even when fully loaded. This Medium-sized model features the Twilight Zone color and a rigid steel frame and fork made from Surly 4130 Chromoly Natch tubing with double-butted main triangle and fork blades. The frame is TIG welded and E.D. coated to resist rust.
The bike includes Surly’s Dummy Deck, Dummy Rails, and Version 2.0 Big Dummy Bags, along with two Dummy Rail Collars to reinforce the rail/frame connection and a kickstand plate. It provides ample mounts for water bottles and accessories: three standard bottle mounts and one Three-Pack mount on the frame, plus two Four-Pack mounts on the fork. Tire clearance supports 26 x 2.5″ tires, and there are no restrictions on chainring sizes.
Additional features include fender eyelets, Surly Trip Guides for organized brake and shift housing or hydraulic lines, and quick-release axles (135mm rear and 100mm front). The combined weight limit for rider and cargo is 400 pounds. The Big Dummy comes in three sizes (Small, Medium, Large) to fit a wide range of riders.
